We went to the Ultimate Wellness Forum at Faena expecting to learn about wellness. We left thinking about sport.

Not because the Forum was built for athletes or teams. It was not. Its language was broader: healthspan, prevention, brain health, recovery, nutrition, technology, stress, resilience, and the many ways a human being might be better understood before they reach a point of crisis. That distinction matters.

In sport, we are used to expertise. We have excellent coaches, strength professionals, nutritionists, therapists, physicians, mental-performance practitioners, researchers, and performance leaders. The problem is not that the people working in athlete development lack care or knowledge. The problem is that expertise often lives in separate rooms.
